Akai Kabuto
E Komo Mai.  It is a Hawaiian greeting meaning welcome or come in.

Thank you for stopping by my corner of cyberspace.  I am an artist at heart, currently, focused on 3D printing as my media of choice for art.

I've been involved in the Additive Manufacturing industry in one way or another for the better part of 10 years.

I started on the technician, sales and services side of the industry.   Around that time I was a model maker and manager for a 3D print services company.  I built models for the product design, architecture, medical and entertainment industries.

Later, I spent a few years focused as a 3D printing technology consultant helping investment companies, safety organizations and manufacturers understand the technology and its potential.

With this unique background, I hope to be a resource to those interested in different aspects of 3D printing technology from applications to issues related to the industry and what may be in store for the future.

I'm open to suggestions on topics as well.

I'm primarily a multimedia and sculpture artist with a background in photography.  I'll be sharing some of the techniques I use, tips on my workflow and how I find inspiration for design.  I hope to be a resource in relating digital 3D technology to other artists and provide a thought provoking look into my process.

I'm a fan of SciFi and Tokusatsu.  Both genre have been an big influence on my life and my work.   So they'll probably be a bit about both inside.

Hope you enjoy my writing and visit often.
