I was recently invited by i.materialise to be a judge for their Japan Kabuto (Samurai Helmet) Design Challenge. I was very honored.

To help inspire people to enter, I designed two Kabuto. The Raijin and Fujin helmets. I also did some guest blogs for them to give entrants an insight into my process. In writing these blogs, I found I had quite a bit to say.

In the end, I cut a good deal out of the i.materialise blog postings. I tried to keep things to a minimum so I didn't overwhelm the average reader.  For those who wanted to know more, I decided to post some of the cut content here on my blog.

Stay tuned, I'll be starting with additional content about designing the Raijin and Fujin helmets.

If you have specific questions about the project, please feel free to ask in the comments section below.

Your mixed media artworks are beautiful. Please continue making them and sharing them to us. I want to commend you or your beautiful works. You are very creative. I have noticed that my classmates also are great at mixed media. They are taking fine arts, while I am into psychology. I wish I can be as artistic, but I have to be thankful with what I have. I am good in other academic activities, but not when it requires creativity on my end.
